It’s 9:56 pm on a peaceful Sunday night and I still can’t decide if I should go for a pack of Doritos or a pack of tortilla chips. Also simultaneously I’m dealing with clients on WhatsApp who are confused about what logo they want to go ahead with.
I’m not comparing the above situations but just that, one decision will just 💩 out the next morning and the other one will stick with you forever. Every fucking person is confused about what they want to do, what they want to eat or where they want to go and that’s completely okay. Just that things get better when you know what you want to do.
“Without an aim, you cannot score a goal”. Look at me getting all philosophical. But this is the real shit. Whether you’re 17 or 71 you still might be confused and that’s fine. If you are running a restaurant and want to become a photographer that’s completely fine. Just make sure that you don’t jump into the water without knowing the depth of the ocean. Ocean, because the market is huge out there and you might just drown. So start learning how to float. Once you start finding the pearls it’ll be much easier to take the dive.
Until then keep the side hustle going. I still have people coming and telling me — Sumukh, I don’t know what I’m good at. ME -You only know what you’re good at by doing Things. Him - BY DOING WHAT? Me — DO ANY FUCKING THING YOU WANT TO. JUST DO. SHE- What if I don’t like it? Me — THE BALL IS IN YOUR FUCKING COURT. YOU GET TO MAKE THE CHOICE.
It’s good to be confused because that is what will let you experiment with different things which eventually will help you to find what you’re good at. Till you try out different things out there you’re not going to be self-aware or not going to know what you’re good at.
But once you know what your strengths are, dwell on that and make sure that fucking thing happen. When I met Auditya Venkatesh the famous photographer of India, he said that he is what he is today because he’s been doing it for the past 7–9 years continuously. No bullshit. Consistency plays a major role in whatever you do.
So be confused and try out the new things and make sure that whatever you stick to, makes you happy. Because when you choose that one thing and even if you fail 99 times you will make sure that you either change the pattern or reverse engineer and figure out your shit on your own. STAY CONFUSED. STAY FOCUSED.
Oh.. and btw. The previous article I wrote about the Zomato ratings while I was getting back after a client meets from Whitefield. I got that brand on board.
